6: Parking Permits
You need to apply for & pay for a parking permit for the space allocated to your apartment/house through City Permits. You can also apply for a visitor permit (if required) through City Permits. They cost £6 each.
Apply: https://citypermits.co.uk/permits
7: Visitor Parking Issues
Visitors parking is problematic and various schemes have been tried over the years.
Currently, residents have a visitors permit to enable their guests to use the bay. What we are finding is that residents are using their visitors permits to “legally” park their second vehicle in the visitors spaces or giving them out to their friends who work locally such as at the hospital. There have been other schemes tried in the past but these have not been particularly effective and create larger problems. One for example was visitors needing to register their vehicles to park in the visitors bays with the enforcement company. This resulted in residents making mistakes and getting ticketed or legitimate visitors making the same error. Once a ticket has been issued, it is not the easiest to get cancelled if it has been correctly applied.
